Information about bandwidth, DDoS protection and overage usage
How bandwidth usage are calculated

Your bandwidth usage is based on the highest value of either your inbound or outbound traffic. For instance, if your server uses 100 GB of incoming bandwidth and 200 GB outgoing bandwidth, your utilization for eventual billing would be 200 GB.

How much overage bandwidth cost

Bandwidth usage in excess of an instance allocation limit is charged at $0.02 per GB in North American and Western European locations. Due to higher regional costs, Singapore and Tokyo - Japan overage is priced at $0.05 per GB and Sydney - Australia overage is priced at $0.10 per GB.

Montly bandwidth overage on a hourly instance

If your plan has 1000 GB allocated to it, the amount of data transfer per hour for overage calculations is 1000 / 672 = 1.49GB/hour. This means your pending charges will reflect the overage calculated by this formula. In some cases it may even be less expensive to leave your instance running than to destroy it and be assessed overage charges.

DDoS protection

All instances are protected from DDoS attacks up to 10Gbps by default, at some location we offer additional protection from attacks up to 100Gbps. This protection exist within the same data center as your instances are located offering you a lower latency than external anti DDoS services.
